BUILDING THE
NEXT GENERATION ON AND OFF THE MATS

Our Fort Myers kids jiu jitsu program gives children ages 4–12 a fun foundation in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). With focus on motor skills, teamwork, and confidence, our martial arts classes help kids thrive—on the mat and off. Whether your child is a beginner or already practicing martial arts, our caring instructors create a safe, structured environment for growth. We offer age-appropriate drills, belt progression, and periodic in-house competitions to celebrate achievements.

TINY TOTS PROGRAM (Ages 3-4)

Laying the foundation—one tiny step at a time

Our Tiny Tots program is specially designed for our youngest students, ages 3 to 4. At this age, children are just beginning to develop key motor skills, social confidence, and body awareness—and jiu jitsu offers a fun, structured environment to support that growth.

Each 30-minute class blends foundational jiu jitsu movements with age-appropriate games and drills to help kids build balance, coordination, and listening skills in a way that feels playful, not pressured. This is their first introduction to the values of respect, focus, and perseverance—on and off the mats.

Program Goals:

  • Improve listening skills and ability to follow instructions

  • Build confidence and comfort in group settings

  • Improve balance, body awareness, and coordination

  • Introduce basic jiu jitsu positions and movements

  • Develop early communication and teamwork skills

Belt Progression:

Stripes and belts are earned, never give, and awarded to celebrate commitment and personal growth.

  • Totally normal! For many families, it takes multiple classes for little ones to warm up to the mat and feel confident enough to participate fully. We encourage consistency and patience—our coaches will guide you with tips and feedback to make the transition easier.

  • Games are how children learn best at this age. Through play, they develop essential coordination and movement patterns that will serve them in jiu jitsu for years to come.

  • Students typically move into the next age group around their 5th birthday, though this may vary depending on maturity, focus, and recommendation from the coaching staff.

  • We generally recommend waiting until they are in the 5–9 program before considering competition. Our coaches are happy to provide guidance when the time is right.

KIDS PROGRAM (Ages 5-9)

Where confidence, discipline, and movement come together

Our 5–9 program is where students begin building strong foundations—in jiu jitsu and in life. Through structured drills, partnered practice, and age-appropriate sparring, students in this group learn to stay focused, follow directions, and apply techniques with intent and respect.

Classes for this age group are 45 minutes long, designed to balance learning and fun. With an emphasis on movement, discipline, and personal growth, we guide each student through the fundamentals of jiu jitsu at their own pace.

Our class ratios are intentionally kept low so every student receives individual support and attention from our coaches. The environment is supportive, focused, and encouraging—designed for all experience levels.

Program Goals:

  • Introduce and reinforce jiu jitsu fundamentals

  • Improve focus, listening skills, and class participation

  • Build confidence, self-discipline, and emotional control

  • Strengthen body coordination, movement, and balance

  • Learn sparring etiquette and basic situational awareness

  • Foster teamwork and personal responsibility

KIDS PROGRAM (Ages 10-14)

Strong roots. Stronger future.

Our 10–14 class is the bridge between our kids and adult programs—offering students the chance to refine their technique, deepen their understanding of jiu jitsu, and begin thinking like athletes. This age group is challenged with more intensity, intentional sparring, and a deeper dive into the strategy and discipline behind the art.

This program is one hour long and focuses on self-control, composure, leadership, and growth through goal-setting. Whether your child is preparing for competition or simply wants to feel stronger and more confident, this class meets them where they are.

We maintain small student-to-coach ratios and a supportive team environment. Students will be grouped by experience and promoted based on their individual readiness—not age or attendance alone.

Program Goals:

  • Reinforce technical fundamentals and introduce advanced movements

  • Sharpen sparring skills and situational problem-solving

  • Build composure, emotional control, and mental grit

  • Foster self-accountability, respect, and discipline

  • Encourage teamwork, peer leadership, and strong communication

  • Provide a healthy outlet for physical energy and self-expression

  • Yes—absolutely. Students can start jiu jitsu at any age, regardless of prior experience. Every new student begins by learning the fundamentals, and we always review the basics before introducing more advanced techniques. Our goal is to help each child build confidence and feel successful from their very first class.

  • We increase the pace, intensity, and expectations. Students in this class are expected to communicate clearly, push themselves during drills and sparring, and demonstrate leadership.

  • Once students show confidence in live rounds and are comfortable with the ruleset, they’re eligible to register for competition. We’ll guide you through the process and offer extra prep when needed.

  • Students may begin transitioning to the Adult Fundamentals program, with instructor approval. This decision is based on maturity, size, and readiness—not age alone.

  • Absolutely—just be mindful of space and distractions. Capturing your child’s progress is part of the journey.
